All DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and NVR (Network Video Recorder) come equipped to offer this feature to you for free. This is a great way to see what’s going on where you are not. Even IP cameras can’t offer this feature. Keep in mind that with an IP camera if the network goes down so does your information and without a DVR or NVR all that history will be lost. If you don't have a static IP you will find you are not able to view your camera system more often than you can that is why it’s very important for this system to be installed correcrly. The reason for this is your ISP (Internet service provider) changes your IP address often. This can change on a power outage or just the company refreshing their network. You must have a DDNS that is a direct link all the time to your system. This is provided for you at no extra cost, and your Electronic Eyes technician will set this up for you. Every time your IP address changes. your DDNS tracks the new one, so when you log onto your system it points you to the correct address. There is no reason to pay the extra cost of a static IP. Technology is changing, and always changing fast.
